10CC COMPILATION INCLUDES BAND PROJECTS AND UNRELEASED TRACKS
'10cc - Greatest Hits And More' - a 2CD greatest hits compilation album - is to be released in the UK on 6 November 2006 (by UMTV).
This is the first 'best of' album for almost ten years and represents a complete history of 10cc and the projects the four members were involved with before and after, including unreleased material from Graham Gouldman (performing the songs he wrote for The Yardbirds, The Hollies, Herman's Hermits).

The combined song writing, instrumental and production talents of Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Lol Creme and Kevin Godley made some of the most influential and memorable pop-rock songs of the late 70's and early 80's, from the pop parody of 'Donna' to the catchy rock of 'Wall Street Shuffle' to the Beatles-esque pop of 'The Things We Do For Love'.
With eleven top 10 hits, including the number 1s 'Rubber Bullets', 'Dreadlock Holiday' and the iconic 'I'm Not In Love', 10cc were hugely popular, but the story didn't end when the band split. Hits from Godley & Creme and Wax show the former members still had the knack of writing a great song.

EUROPE BACK WITH SECRET SOCIETY
In the summer of 2006, EUROPE began recording Secret Society with Lennart Östlund, long time engineer at the legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm.
Lennart has worked with countless international artists over the years, including Led Zeppelin and The Scorpions, just to name a few. When Stefan Glaumann, (Rammstein, Clawfinger, Paradise Lost, Within Temptation), agreed to work with them and mix Secret Society, the band was overjoyed - all of the pieces were beginning to fall into place.

The band enlisted the legendary Storm Thorgerson to design the artwork. As a member of the design studio Hipgnosis, Storm worked on all the classic album covers by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Peter Gabriel.
Guitarist John Norum reminisces: "Growing up, my favourite covers were done by this guy. The cover of UFO's Obsession and the Michael Schenker Group's first album cover really blew me away." Storm has recently created the CD art work for bands like Mars Volta and Muse.
'Secret Society' is Europe's seventh album. This CD is modern and contemporary, without losing sight of traditional rock influences.
As drummer Ian Haugland explains: "When Joey and John get together to write, the sparks just fly. And when the rest of us join in, it's like setting off a stick of dynamite. Tunes like Love Is Not the Enemy, The Getaway Plan and Human After All are going to be great to play live."
On this new album, keyboard player Mic Michaeli has been more actively involved in the writing process, colouring the music with his synthesizers and keyboards. In collaboration with Joey, he's created songs that have truly broadened the musical scope of the band.
'Secret Society' is released on October 30.

BAT OUT OF HELL III - OUT OCTOBER 31

On October 31st Meat Loaf is releasing Bat Out of Hell III - the final piece of the Bat Out of Hell trilogy, on on Virgin Records in North America, and Universal Records outside of North America.
'Meat Loaf holds such a unique place in pop culture,' Virgin Records Chairman/CEO Jason Flom commented. 'His name, voice and artwork have come to symbolize great American pop/rock music. We are excited to be involved with Meat Loaf and Bat Out of Hell III because good things always come in threes -- and the only thing better than Bat Out of Hell is Bat Out of Hell II, and the only thing better than Bat Out of Hell II is Bat Out of Hell III!'
The album was produced by hit-maker Desmond Child (Kiss, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Cher) with additional vocal arrangements by Todd Rundgren (producer of the first Bat out of Hell). 'Bat Out of Hell albums are really renegade records; when they come out they are never like anything else,' observed album producer Child. '(In this project), Meat Loaf saw a door open to a new style that is the future of Bat Out of Hell. He wears all of his emotions on the outside.
Meat Loaf agreed: 'I took all the songs a little more personal; I became more internal on this record, (and) there were less character studies.'

WATERBOYS SIGN W14 DEAL
The Waterboys have signed a deal with W14 Music - the new Universal Music Group imprint headed by MD John Williams. This follows the recent signings of Level 42 and Siouxsie Sioux to W14 Music, and sees Williams reunited with Mike Scott twenty years after they first worked together.
An extraordinary songwriter and lyricist, Mike Scott formed The Waterboys in 1982 and has been the driving force and artistic heart of the outfit throughout its various incarnations, relentlessly exploring a variety of musical styles.
Scott's songs rank as some of the most imaginative and distinctive of the past quarter century. In 1991 he was the deserved winner of an Ivor Novello (songwriting) Award for arguably his best-known song to date, 'The Whole of the Moon'.
